Culture Vault: DIGITAL TWIN

PIERMARQ* Projects is pleased to present an upcoming Digital Art exhibition, DIGITAL TWIN  by Culture Vault. Opening reception: Thursday 23 November from 6-8PM.

The proliferation of AI through art and all aspects of our life is undeniable. However, the use of AI tools in the creation of art is both nascent and controversial.

In an effort to explore and experiment with ideas and concepts involving this burgeoning technology, Culture Vault has invited 6 of Australia’s leading digital native artists to create 2 works - one using traditional digital tools, and the other using AI software to be shown side by side, inviting viewers to contemplate their different reactions and concerns to both pieces.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the art world is a blend of controversy and benefit. While it opens new frontiers for creative expression, enabling artists to explore uncharted territories in art and design, it also raises ethical questions about originality and authorship. AI democratizes art creation, making it accessible to non-artists, but simultaneously challenges traditional notions of artistic skill and the unique touch of the human hand, leading to debates about the true value and ownership of  AI-generated art.

The artists exhibited include:

- Billy Ryan

- David Porte Beckefeld

- Georgie Pinn

- James McGrath
