Cornwall-based artist, Spencer Shakespeare, finds inspiration in the natural world. Shakespeare's practice depicts places of intersection; the coastline and the edge of forests - liminal spaces where transitions and boundaries take place. To Shakespeare, the garden is a representation of the space between the domestic boundary and the beginning of wilderness. Landscapes blur into abstract and imaginary worlds, with touches of mystery and magic.
