We are pleased to present the PIERMARQ* Contemporary this October; a group show featuring works by Doug Argue, Henrik Godsk, Yvonne Robert & Zhuang Hong Yi. Due to recent health progressions and the postponement of Sydney Contemporary, PIERMARQ* remains eager to present the accomplished works that had been slated for the fair.
PIERMARQ* is committed to showcasing the most exciting and innovative art from the global arena. The four esteemed international artists find commonality in their elegant and considered compositions, their employment of bold colour and multidimensional subject matter. While Argue’s monumental work underpins meaning from patterns in nature, Robert’s vibrant gestural strokes suggest a rejection of rationalisation and a step towards organicism. Godsk imbues a masterful story within his female figures and their ‘nomadic’ nature, while also nodding to various art historical periods, past & present. Within his small-scale, Flowerburst Colourchange works, Zhuang Hong Yi, similarly creates an entrancing story, but from the more personal viewpoint of his Chinese-Dutch heritage; drawing similarities to the prevalence of Flowers in both cultures and their significance in ceremony and celebration.
We are pleased to be able to share these works with our local audience in the first show which will be open to the public on October 11.
