It was an exciting finish to 2019 for PIERMARQ* artist Craig Handley, as he was announced a finalist in the 2019 Blacktown City Art Prize for his artwork ‘We are particularly fond of the outdoor space.’ The work hung in the Prize over the Christmas break and has now successfully entered into the 2020 Collie Art Prize (CAP) in Western Australia. The CAP is known as one of the richest art prizes in Australia and will hang from March 1st until April 5th.
Alongside this, Craig was also accepted as a finalist in the Korean-Australian Arts Foundation Art Prize in 2019, with his work ‘Some Assembly Required.’ The KAAF prize seeks to celebrate the multicultural society of Australia through bringing artists together from diverse ethnicities, from all over the nation. ‘Some Assembly Required’ has returned to the gallery preceding the KAAF prize and is a wonderfully unique and symbolic self portrait with Craig’s signature sparingly delicate handling of oil paint.
We are thrilled to present a solo exhibition of Craig's paintings in late June 2020 at PIERMARQ* Gallery. To keep up to date with Craig's works and exhibition please visit our website
