This catalogue documents JP Jones' sellout first solo exhibition with Piermarq, Portraits Of Sound.
Each painting is a portait of a specific song: a laser is attached to a speaker, and when a piece of music is played, a unique abstract pattern, or 'Sound Signature', dances upon the canvas, which is then traced over in paint. In this body of work, JP took these paintings down a more literal, figurative track, laying portraits of the musicians over the original abstract 'sound signatures'.
