Dana James USA, b. 1986

Dana James is an abstract artist who is interested in environments that are not her own. References to Americana suburbia are found in her pastel moonlit color schemes and contoured shapes. James’ process often involves a combination of recycled and new canvas fragmented and covered in acrylic, ink, oil, glaze and sometimes encaustic, fabric and resin. Such multi-dimensional layers of wax, loose pigment, and mark making produce both an active dissonance and harmony.
