Andrew Salgado Canadian, 1982

Andrew Salgado is a Canadian painter living and working in London. His colourful, symbolic work interweaves figures in a fantastical combination of patterns and colours.

Themes of abundance and excess play upon the surface, as figurative shapes shift in and out of the composition. Motifs of harlequin-like figures and low-hanging moons reference the tradition of figurative painting.

Salgado graduated with an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art in 2009.  Since 2010, he has had over 15 sold-out international solo exhibitions in London, New York, Toronto, Miami, Cape Town and Basel.
