Working at the intersect of high and low culture, Italian artist Cosimo Casoni blends characteristics of hip-hop and post-vandal aesthetics with traditional painting techniques. Approaching mark making in a variety of styles, his use of a skateboard as medium was influenced by the freedom and creativity of free-stylers – an underground subculture Casoni has been immersed in since his youth. Casoni draws inspiration from his urban environment and a fascination with unexplored visual geographies.
Casoni studied Visual Arts and Painting at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA), Milan. The artist has exhibited widely across Europe.
