Bel Fullana llives and works in Mallorca, Spain. Inspired by her environment and the colourful tourists it attracts, Fullana became known for creating vibrant scenes that are, in her words "amorphous and unkempt." Fullana has described her work as "figurative and carefree expressionist painting with a strong childlike character." Similar to Dubuffet, she eschews traditional standards of beauty in favour of a more authentic and humanistic approach.
In recent work, Fullana represents the exhibitionist nature of human beings. Her paintings examine "social media, using filters and seizing the latest trends. The paitings show a wild, sexually empowered and apparently dangerous woman."
